Established in 1948 in Plauen, former East Germany, VEB Glhlampenwerk Plauen was a factory for general lighting. Later, production of automotive lighting started. The brand name NARVA was registered in 1957 after Nitrogen, Argon and Vacuum to represent the technology of automotive lighting at that time.
